  • Warm without the weight

Each baby alpaca fiber has a hollow core that traps air. At 520 grams it covers you on the sofa without pinning you down.

  • Kind to skin that hates wool

Alpaca contains no lanolin, the source of most wool and cashmere allergies.

  • Soft now, soft in year twenty

Long-staple baby alpaca resists pilling under normal use. With proper care, alpaca textiles are known to last 20 to 40 years.

  • Nothing hidden in a blend

100% baby alpaca at 21 to 23 micron. No wool, no cashmere, no synthetics. Alpaca Origin Certified, Fair Trade Peru, GOTS and OCS.

Andean brown baby alpaca throw on a chair beside Peruvian pottery
Where it comes from

Peru. The material is the proof.

The Original Throw is woven in Peru from 100% baby alpaca. Its fiber, weight, size, finish and care are named plainly, because a $275 throw should not make you guess what it is.

Fine 21 to 23 micron fiber gives it a soft woven hand. Hand-knotted fringe finishes each end.

Why alpaca

Before you buy

Questions, answered plainly.

Anything else: write to us.

What does “baby alpaca” mean?

It is a fiber grade, set by how fine the fiber is. It does not mean a young animal or a first shearing. Ours measures 21 to 23 micron.

How does alpaca compare to cashmere?

Both are natural animal fibers. Feel is personal, so we give you the exact fiber, micron range and construction instead of asking you to take a comparison on faith.

Can I machine wash it?

No. Dry cleaning is preferred. You can hand wash in cold water with a wool wash or pH-neutral detergent, then dry it flat. Full instructions are under Care above.

What does $275 buy?

100% baby alpaca at 21 to 23 micron, 51 × 71 in, 520 g, and hand-knotted fringe. The price reflects a stated material and construction.

Can I pay over time?

Yes. Choose Shop Pay, Klarna or Afterpay at checkout for 4 interest-free payments of $68.75, subject to approval.

How do returns work?

Request a return within 30 days of delivery. Items must be unused, in original condition and original packaging. Email brian@paqariofficial.com with your order number. See the return policy.
